VOLUNTEERING

We are always looking for volunteers to join the team of people who make up the Oak Bay Volunteer Services Society. We want our volunteers to have enjoyable worthwhile experiences.  Their gift of time and effort is a very special service to the community. Volunteers choose where, when, and how often they take an assignment.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

DRIVING
Driving and assistance for individuals who are unable to manage by taxi or bus.  Volunteer drivers provide personal assistance to ensure that clients make it safely to and from their destination.   Drives are for medical and other appointments, shopping, errands, activities, recreational rides, etc.

Volunteers use their own cars.  Travel expenses are available to volunteers who drive clients.  Clients pay for parking.

For insurance purposes, pleasure use is all that is necessary.  Insurance coverage is recommended for vehicles at the rate of $3 million for third-party liability.  The agency carries coverage for the third-party liability and for a non-owned auto policy.
